To better serve member organizations and gain insights into the development trends of the underground space industry in various cities as well as their collaboration needs, the Professional Committee organized a thematic research initiative on “Underground Space Science and Development.” Events have been successfully held in Tianjin, Baotou, and Chongqing.

Over 30 member organizations and related industry entities participated in the research activities, sharing their respective technological strengths and collaboration requirements. During these sessions, key projects were also investigated, including the Tianjin Metro Dispatch Command Center, the China Railway Fourth Bureau’s Jingbin Intercity Railway Project, the Haihe Tunnel, the Centrifuge Laboratory of the Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering, and the Baotou Underground Utility Tunnel Operation and Maintenance Center, among other major engineering sites.
