On August 1, the Chinese Society for Urban Studies issued a notice regarding the “2023 Research and Development Plan for Standards of the Chinese Society for Urban Studies (First Batch).” Two standards organized and submitted by the Underground Space Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Urban Studies have been selected. These are the *Code for Seismic Design of Steel-Concrete Composite Single-Column Stations*, compiled by China Railway Engineering Design and Consulting Group Co., Ltd., and the *Technical Code for Horizontal Directional Drilling in Underground Space*, compiled by Zhuofang Drilling Engineering Group Co., Ltd.

In the next step, the Professional Committee will leverage the expertise of its members and specialists to continue organizing and advancing the compilation and research work for these standards.
