Liang Wenhao, Director of the Underground Space Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Urban Studies, is an expert in tunnels and underground engineering. He is primarily engaged in research on the construction technologies for long cross-mountain tunnels in complex mountainous areas, as well as tunnels under special geological conditions such as plateau permafrost, collapsible loess, and wind-blown sand, along with TBM construction techniques. Born in Shanghai in September 1941, he graduated from Tongji University in 1964 and was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2005.
